Every couple of days we sit together as a family and each of us takes turns reading a paragraph from the opening pages of Wineskins. It is a slow, but steady progression that calls for additional explanation of large words and somewhat mature concepts–at least for pre-teens. Whenever verses are noted, someone other than the one currently reading turns to that passage in the bible and reads the source.
So far, so good. We just started on the third chapter which sparked a discussion about why God makes covenants with people–something to do with the shocking revelation that we are made in the image of the divine–a great reminder of how precious each of us is in the grand scheme of life!
